You Don’t Need More Information. You Need a Move.

You Don’t Need More Information. You Need a Move.

You know that feeling when you’ve watched enough videos, saved enough posts, read enough books, and listened to enough advice to know exactly what you should be doing?

And yet… you’re still in the same place.

You know the next step. You’ve thought about it. You’ve researched it. You may even have a plan for it.

But somehow, you haven’t moved.

Sometimes, the problem isn’t that we don’t know enough.

Sometimes, we simply haven’t moved.

When Learning Becomes a Hiding Place

Maybe you’ve been thinking about starting that business.

Maybe you’ve been planning to apply for that opportunity.

Maybe there’s a skill you’ve wanted to learn, a conversation you’ve been postponing, or an idea you’ve been refining for months.

So you keep gathering information.

One more podcast.

One more course.

One more article.

One more conversation.

One more book.

And before you know it, “I’m preparing” becomes a very comfortable place to hide.

The interesting thing about preparation is that it feels like progress.

You are learning, researching, planning and gathering resources. You feel productive.

But preparation has a point where it needs to become participation.

There comes a moment when you have to close the book, stop saving the post, leave the planning stage and actually make the move.

Knowledge Is Only Valuable When You Use It

One of Dr. Clement Obadimu’s Words on Marble says:

“No knowledge can come to profit without action being taken on it.”

That distinction is easy to miss.

Knowledge can inform you.

It can inspire you.

It can give you confidence.

It can show you possibilities you never considered before.

But knowledge alone cannot create the result you want.

Action is what transforms knowledge into experience.

You can read about entrepreneurship without ever starting a business.

You can watch videos about public speaking without ever stepping onto a stage.

You can take courses about leadership without ever taking responsibility.

You can research opportunities for years without ever submitting an application.

At some point, knowing has to become doing.

You Don’t Need to Feel Completely Ready

One of the biggest reasons people don’t move is the belief that they need to feel ready first.

They want the perfect plan.

The perfect opportunity.

The perfect amount of confidence.

The perfect timing.

But growth rarely works that way.

Sometimes, the next step doesn’t require certainty.

It requires movement.

You may not know exactly how everything will work out.

You may make mistakes.

You may discover that your original plan needs to change.

That is part of the process.

You learn by doing.

You gain experience by participating.

You develop confidence by taking steps that initially make you uncomfortable.

The goal isn’t to eliminate uncertainty before you begin.

The goal is to become willing to move despite it.

Ask a Different Question

We often ask:

“What else do I need to know?”

It’s a reasonable question.

But sometimes it keeps us stuck.

Instead, try asking:

“What can I do with what I already know?”

That question changes everything.

Perhaps you already know enough to send the email.

Perhaps you already know enough to submit the application.

Perhaps you already know enough to make the phone call.

Perhaps you already know enough to start the first page.

Perhaps you already know enough to have the difficult conversation.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to take one meaningful step.

Start Small, But Start

Taking action doesn’t mean you suddenly have to change your entire life.

Pick one thing.

Not ten.

One.

Make the move small enough that you can actually do it this week.

Send the email.

Make the call.

Submit the application.

Register for the programme.

Publish the idea.

Ask for feedback.

Start the project.

Have the conversation.

Take the first step.

Small action is still action.

And sometimes, the smallest step is enough to break the cycle of endless preparation.

The Difference Mentorship Can Make

This is one reason mentorship matters.

Sometimes, you don’t need someone to give you another hundred pieces of information.

You need someone who can help you identify which information matters right now.

You need someone who can challenge your assumptions.

Someone who can ask the uncomfortable question.

Someone who can look at your potential and say, “You’ve been preparing for this long enough. What are you going to do about it?”

At Mentors Tower, we believe growth becomes more meaningful when knowledge is shared, tested and put into practice.

Mentorship isn’t simply about knowing more.

It is about becoming better equipped to move forward.

So, What’s Your Move?

Think about something you’ve been postponing.

Something you’ve researched.

Something you’ve talked about.

Something you’ve said you would eventually do.

Now ask yourself:

Have I genuinely run out of information—or am I simply avoiding action?

Be honest with yourself.

Because you may not need another course.

You may not need another motivational video.

You may not need another five-year plan.

You might just need to take the first step.

Your next level may not be waiting for more information.

It may be waiting for your move.

From Mentors Tower

Growth happens when learning becomes action.

Keep learning. Keep asking questions. Keep seeking guidance.

But when the time comes, move.

Your knowledge becomes more valuable when you put it to work.

Your potential becomes more visible when you act on it.

And your growth becomes real when you begin.

You don’t need another hundred things to learn this week.

You might just need to take the first step on the one thing you already know.
